Inspired by the natural beauty of the Berkshires, the BERK crossbody is our first in a line of U.S Made Waxed Canvas bags to come. Our mid-sized BERK was designed to carry daily essentials in the wholesome, rural, and at times refined, setting we are grateful to call home. The BERK offers two generous reach-in pockets at the front, while an outer zipped pocket spans the back. A slim, contrast-colored pocket to hold keys or phone is topstitched to the inside of the roomy main compartment, which zips shut at the top with a sturdy marine-grade zipper. A 1.5” wide strap smoothly adjusts to accommodate crossbody or over-the-shoulder carry.

*Waxed Cotton Canvas has a rich history dating back to sailors wetting flax-canvas sails in the 15th century, and  spanning through varied applications over time from grease to fish and linseed oils over time until the early 1920’s, when British Armed Forces developed a breathable paraffin-based waxed cotton to keep them dry. This application, with the addition of beeswax, has maintained the popularity of waxed canvas as a reliable, rugged textile to this day. Waxed canvas is water resistant, and made to last.
